ATHENS, GA, March 27, 2013 — Power Partners and SmartSenseCom co-presented a paper at the ABB Automation & Power World conference in Orlando, FL, today about the intelligent distribution transformer (IDT) they are developing, using sensing technology licensed from the U.S. Navy.
Capabilities of the IDT package include steady-state transformer monitoring, connectivity mapping, reporting of anomalies such as rapid changes in voltage, current, temperature and pressure, smart metering at the transformer, and distributed control and protection applications. The unique sensors are highly accurate and stable in harsh environments, are not subject to saturation, have almost no temperature variation and consume little power.
ABB Automation & Power World is a premier automation and power event at which industry experts are introduced to the latest products and cutting-edge technology so they can learn how these solutions can impact their businesses.
