Deep draw and short run stamping

Deep draw stamping is needed when materials must flow or stretch as opposed to bending. Deep drawing is a sheet metal forming process in which a sheet metal blank is radially drawn into a forming die by the mechanical action of a punch. The process is considered "deep" drawing when the depth of the drawn part exceeds its diameter. This is achieved by redrawing the part through a series of dies. Significant draw depths require many steps.

Short run stamping can be used for lower quantities or in initial project phases, offering design flexibility and lower tooling costs. Short run production can be accomplished in a number of ways. Any mix of temporary tooling, short run tooling, laser cutting, CNC stamping, forming welding, and assembly can be used to meet any volume requirements.

Both short run and deep draw stamping prices include die maintenance, so there are no hidden costs.
